Re: PG Check In

  • Doing good here.  Today is 4 months till my due date.  I go for my next monthly appointment next week.  Cody is moving all around.  I noticed the other day that when I am laying down or reclining you can actually see my stomach move.  I haven't been able to see if you can when I'm standing or sitting.

We found a daycare so that's done.  I just need to start on the registry for my showers and DH needs to get going in the basement.  I'm sure he will start the first weekend in June since he is working this weekend and my parents will be down next weekend.

  • Almost half way there! I had an OB appointment today and this kid is active. He kept running away from the doppler and kicking it. The doctor thought he was hilarious!! I feel him all the time.

I have been stocking up on cloth diapers and starting to plan the nursery, since we are making so much stuff. I will start to really buckle down in June when we are not so busy.

Ooo, what kind(s) have you gotten? Are you planning on using cloth wipes also?

  • SmileI've been feeling great! The exhaustion kicked in this week...I feel like I could sleep for days! No morning sickness yet (knock on wood) and I am praying that it stays away. My grandmother and mother both told me that they had it from pretty much the moment they conceived up until the baby was born...I'm REALLY hoping I got lucky! My doctor wrote me a perscription for Zofran "just in case", and I have saltines and ginger ale ready.

Oh, and not pregnancy related, but I have a job interview tomorrow morning at the hospital I would LOVE to work at. The nurse manager knows me from my current job and is interested in me, and she knows I'm pregnant and is "willing to work with me". Keep your fingers crossed!

It really feels like everything is falling into place.

Here is what I have so far for my newborn stash. I am always looking out for more covers and all in ones, and starting to look out for good deals on ones for him as he grows. I am also getting a bunch of cloth wipes that my mom has at home.

  • Doing well here. Officially in 3rd tri since the last pg check-in. I'm finally feeling some relief from my rib pain. I dealt with it for ~27 weeks and it's finally fading. No explanation for it since I had the cortizone shots in early April. I'm just so glad it appears to be going away.

Rob and I start our baby classes on Saturday. I hope they're not too boring or cheesy and are worth the money we're paying.

Still interviewing daycare providers. I really like the one we interviewed last Friday. Hopefully we can make a final decision soon.

We're in the painting process right now and our baby furniture is being delivered on the 25th. Rob and I are already placing bets on how long it'll take the cats to jump into the crib. My guess is 15 mins.

I found my classes helpful, especially because they went over policies/procedures of the hospital which I wouldn't have known otherwise. I hope yours dont suck!

Our cat loves the crib, any time we're in there and leave the door open it's a battle to keep her out of it. They do have netting you can put around the crib which is supposed to keep cats out, my cat is like a ferret (she pulls things out of pockets in my purse to bat them around the floor) so I didn't bother trying it cause I figured she would figure a way around it. But my friend uses it and says it works well for her.

  • Glad the rib pain is fading Dani.

We signed up for childbirth class in July.  It's 2 saturdays for 3 hours each day.  I figure it's better than nothing.

  • I also liked the baby/labor classes at our hospital. I think they were very worthwhile.

And we had one of those crib tents but I didn't feel like putting it together (borrowed it from a co-worker) and we just decided to keep his door closed.

  • Feeling pretty good here. Now I only get nauseated when I haven't eaten for a long time. Still getting up in the middle of the night to pee which is super duper annoying.

Went for my 16w appt with Mel's mom and listened to the hb. It was in the 140s so right on the edge of gender prediction which figures. I keep saying I'm sure it is a girl and when I told Nick he said, "So you are telling me there's a chance!" (Bonus points for the person who knows the quote =p)

Other than that we wait until the 13th of June to finally find out for sure. Once that happnes then I think we will finally start thinking about stuff and registering and all that.

Oh and I am getting a little annoyed that all Nick's family members tell me when they see me that they didn't start showing until X number of months. STFU

    LOL

As far as the in laws go (well any anyone actually) I feel like people see a pregnant person and they put on their stupid hats. The first time I saw larger group of IL's (and they all knew that I had been pretty sick in the first tri and most of 2nd) they all felt compelled to talk about how they never got sick. I had three women squawking over each other about who was less sick than the other. The whole time I felt like being sick. Oh and of course two of them told me they only gained 20 lbs. Weirdos.

It really annoys the piss out of me. MIL tells me all the time that she didn't gain a pound until 5 months because she didn't want her boss to know Confused and then her mom said that when she was pregnant with MIL she didn't show until like 7 months.

Yes I've popped. I know I'm only 4 months but I'm about 4 inches shorter than everyone with no freaking torso. There is no place for my ute to hide dangit!

I agree about the stupid hat thing.

Oh and forgot to say Dani I'm glad the rib pain is going away!

Umm let's see I have my growth scan next week and am measuring ahead (about a week or so) which makes me want to tell my DR. 'I told you so' because my O date that I have recorded would put me a week or so further ahead than based on LMP.

The BH are getting nuts, I had a horrible one on Wednesday it lasted for three hours. My skin eventually even felt horribly uncomfortable, I was lotioning up like mad.

Is a growth scan u/s standard in your doc office? Mine told me that I don't get one unless they think something is wrong.

Oh duh. It may be standard but I am going to get more than one done in 3rd tri to double check for any clotting because of the prothrombin. I am going to go ahead and be hopeful and say all the precautions are working since I am measuring ahead LOL.

I also might get a dopler on one of my knees to check for a clot, since it has been sore and feeling warm lately but the Dr doesn't seemed to concerned.

  • We got a lot done in the nursery last weekend - we picked up the dresser, end table is painted, closets cleaned out, all shower stuff put away, and I found curtains at Lowes on clearance that are the exact color I was looking for.  I just have to wash the bedding/clothes and put that away, find some lamps, and a chair.  I think we are going to wait for art above the crib until after he/she is here.  You know, give me something to do while on leave =P

I feel a lot better than I did a couple days ago, but this thing is getting large and in charge.  I'm doing a 2012 baby belly calendar shoot next tuesday plus a mini maternity session and I'm down to about 5 shirts that fit - so I might have to do a little more shopping this weekend. Tomorrow is 35/35 for me - eek!

    Glad everyone is doing well!
