Hi ladies! (update and birth story)

The last few weeks of pregnancy literally crawled by and now I can't keep up with time flying by!  Despite recovering from my c-section, I feel a million times better than the swollen hot mess I was for the last 5 weeks or so.

Baby H is such an amazing little guy.  Actually, he's not little at all which explains why I looked like a blimp!  Harrison was 8lbs 12oz and 21 inches at birth.  I've taken him to the doctor already and he's back to 8lbs 8oz already.  This kid EATS!!  Unfortunately, his biliruben scores kept climbing so his feet look like pin cushions.  Today will be his third (and hopefully final) test since leaving the hospital.  His scores are finally dropping.

He's such a happy baby and great sleeper.  He sleeps anywhere from 2-3.5 hours at a time.  As his biliruben scores drop, he's more alert and I love it!

As for my birth story, it's short.  I went into the doctor last Monday and my BP was 150/100 and 140/100 in the other arm.  After laying down for 10 minutes, it only dropped to 130/90.  I've been swollen and uncomfortable but I never dilated and the baby never dropped.  She was saying all along that this kid would be big!  I went in on Tuesday for an ultrasound.  His fluid was beginning to get low and he was estimated to be 9lbs 10oz (WHAT!?).  The doctor suggested that a c-section would be my best bet but I could wait it out.  I was not inducible and would have an 80 percent chance of failure (my biggest fear was having to take pitocin and then it not working).  I decided that I would do the c-section and my surgery was scheduled for 12PM on Wednesday, May 11th.  DH and I went on our last date night alone and made it into the hospital at 10AM on Wednesday (lucky me, I had time for a shower and makeup, lol).  The nurses were fabulous and everything moved right on time.  The spinal wasn't bad either.  By 12:30, Baby H was born!  It was amazing seeing that baby over the blue screen!  I couldn't hold back my tears of joy.  I was out of surgery by 1PM and back in my room.  DH was the first one to hold him (and he was still able to cut the cord!) and have alone time with him.  The only negative experience is that I had an allergic reaction to the meds/spinal at night and wanted to scratch my face off.  A few doses of benedryl cured that though.

I'm so happy to be home recovering now!!  I've already dropped 15lbs and can walk around pretty well.  In a week, I'll be allowed to do housework, drive and all that so I'm enjoying having no responsibilities besides Baby H.

If you've made it this far in my story, congratulations! lol.  Here are some photos of my baby boy:
