More exciting things to share
In all of the preparations for my OA on Monday, I kind of pushed the other big piece of good fortune to the side. I found out on Sunday that I got the job I really wanted at the Embassy. They want me to start as soon as we get to post. Not only does this job sound really interesting, but it pays decently too.
Also, because they want me to start right away, I should be able to work it out with my current agency so that I can trasfer and not have a break in service. See, with the gov., your time toward retirement is counted in full years. I am 10 months into my 6th year, but if I had a break in service, I would lose those ten months and only get credit for the 5 full years. Long story short, this will make it so much easier!

Edited: And if you decide to learn Spanish as your language, then I can email you back and forth, if you think that might help. I had a pen pal for a while - she was actually from...I want to say Bulgaria or Belgium, I don't remember, now - and totally helped me.
I'm going to be working with students interested in studying in the U.S.- helping them through the application process and giving them information on what to expect when they get here.
LOL, definitely. Although I feel like haven't seen Kathy on here in a while. Kathy, you out there?

You know I hate to disappoint Kathy, but I'm on my period today and I'm getting my IUD in 6 days, so no babies in my near future.
I think she might be in California right now.

I won't know until I get there. I'm afraid to say that there may be some radio silence once we fly out until I can get things sorted out internet connection-wise. I think I'm going to cry if TN is blocked in KSA.
ETA: The time difference will actually be great b/c I'll be 7 hours ahead of you guys (well, 8 for you, Kathy) so at 8pm when the kids are in bed will be the perfect time to Nest with you guys that are at work.
Oh yes, I just got back from CA. Ahh, there is BFP announcements?! I must go find them and catch up on my Nest posts!
