I went ahead and started a new thread. There's going to be another trilogy written. Here is a link to a site that posted an email the author wrote to one of her fans. She mentions it on her blog, but doesn't go into nearly as much detail as she does in the email.

Oh that pisses me off! I really dont like Stefen, I just cant get into him, he always seems like the martyr, not the hero.
Now I dont know if I want to read the next book.
ETA: She should just write her own ending and self publish it was a e-book. They cant do anything about it, kinda like the pedophile book that was on amazon for a while. Damon and Elena need a real ending.
(I totally realize that Im way to invested in fictional characters. But hey, that's all I've got going for me lately.
)
