What do you think of the new romper trend? PIP

totally out of the blue i know....up early - just sent h off to work...LOL.  I will be going shortly as well....

For some odd reason, (& i don't know why i feel the need to post it) but i want a romper / dress thingy.  I have no idea where or when I'd wear it....completely too trendy for me...but i think (some) are so cute!!  Obviously there are the hideous ones with the bib overalls, etc.

yes, random i know....i wouldn't waste my money on one i guess.  My mom says they were the "it" style back in the 70's - think charlies angels...maybe that's why i like them...?? What do you guys think of them?

*CUTE (Sure, why not?)   OR   *HIDEOUS (Hell no, I'm not a toddler!!)

To help you decide, i tried one on & snapped a photo of me....see below...

Ha ha ha ~ I WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Stick out tongue  Hopefully you didn't spit up your coffee!!

Re: What do you think of the new romper trend? PIP

  • I actually have a romper - I think they're cute. It's plain black and I wear it with flat sandals. I think they're really cute, but it's hard to find one that fits you since it's like finding shorts and a tank top to fit at once.

I tried on like 100 of them before I found one I liked. Most of them ended up cutting me in the crotch or being so short that it was scandalous.

(Oh, and you all feel free to say you don't like them even though I said I have one. i know I'm in the minority here and I'm cool with that!).

  • I almost bought one last year and I wish I had.  I think they can be cute if you style them right and if you're wearing them as loungewear or at the beach.
  • They aren't the right kind of style for my body shape, but I think they can be pretty cute on other people.
  • you look wonderful in yours, mrsu! i couldn't pull it off. those shorts would be riding up something awful on me!!!
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • I own 3. Two of them I bought at Target last year and I love them. One of them is from the 70's that I stole from my mother.. and it's awesome. It's an easy outfit to throw on instead of a dress.
  • thanks eden!  I try!  LOL.

Okay, so not everyone hates them & I'm not alone in thinking they're cute....just hard to find the right one....

  • For me the ones with adjustable straps are the only ones that work. Strapless end up to where I have to pull it up so high the shorts are too short - same with ones that have normal straps and a really defined waistline. The ones that are baggier and loose work better. Got mine at Gap Outlet if that helps!
