Cooper is coming to live with me tomorrow YAY!
Unfortuneately he has to ride in the car with H for 3 hours--which he HATES. What can I do to help make the ride more comfortable for the both of them? Someone suggested a benadryl but Im not sure how I feel about "drugging" my dog.

Re: Any ideas? (pet related)
I was going to suggest benadryl myself.
Does he get car sick or just super hyper and whinny??
Raven is a nut job in the car b/c she loves it so much. Having a window down helps b/c she is quite when she has her head out the window.
Do you have a kong? Put some kibble or small treats in it. Then melt a cup of peanut butter in the microwave. Turn the kong upside down and put it in a cup with the opening end up. Pour the melted peanut butter in to the kong. Pop it in the freezer over night.
Yes I have given it to Raven on a few occasions. My mom used it a lot with her Dals when she showed them and we traveled the east coast with them.
Here is the dosing information
Benadryl for Dogs or Cats
Benadryl is a brand name for an anti-histamine (diphenhydramine). Although it is considered fairly safe for use in dogs and cats, please be aware that it does have potential adverse side effects. It may interact with other meds that your pet is taking, so do not use it without first consulting your veterinarian. You should also use extreme caution using Benadryl in dogs that have glaucoma, prostatic disease, cardiovascular disease or hyperthyroidism.
Benadryl is quite effective when used in proper dosages.
