Some of you have been following about my grandmother who has been ill for quite a while now. I thought it would be her last Christmas two years ago and here it is May already. Anyway, she's been slowly fading away. She has been unable to speak for many years and didn't recognize me the last visit. There were feeding tubes, catheters, morphine... Well, now we have decided to stop feedings. She is on Day 4 and will probably no more than a week. My mom reports that she is peaceful and seems relaxed. I will try to make it out one last time, more for my family than for me. I have made my peace with all of this a while ago.
It's the end of era.
