Every morning (well let's be honest, most afternoons around 2pm too) I need to have a can/cup/glass of diet coke/diet pepsi. I'm not a coffee drinker, so a little soda helps give me the boost I need to get moving in the morning. What do you prefer to drink when you need a little extra help waking up/starting your day?

Re: Caffeine
Oh, man, do I look forward to drinking caffeine again!
I am an iced tea addict. Seriously. Before I got pregnant, I would stop on my way to work to get a 32 oz from Chick-Fil-A, then at lunch I would drink two or three glasses wherever I went to lunch, plus get one to-go, often I would stop again on my way home for another 32 oz, and then I would have iced tea with dinner.
It was a sickness. Fortunately it was unsweet tea, so there were no calories involved.
At this point, all I drink is water (although I was told I need to drink Gatorade or juice sometimes, too). I know I'm healthier for it, but I look forward to a big glass of iced tea in my future!

Yummm, Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper!
I have been cutting back though, from 3-4 cans a day to just 1. This went out the window last week with all the traveling and lack of sleeping I did though.
Coffee....if I buy (which I'm trying not to anymore to save money) I get a grande/medium and I drink the free stuff from work, I have 2-6oz cups.
If I need a pick me up in the afternoon, I'll drink free green tea from work.
I'm not a pop/soda drinker, so I get the caffiene via coffee!

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermDuh...can't believe I forgot to put tea on there. I love me some tea, especially some that is only slightly sweet.
I alwaysss have some kind of diet soda with caffeine at lunch, I couldn't make it through the second half of the day if I didn't.
I don't like coffee. The only time I drink it was black at 5am when Mike and I were working out for the wedding.
But I love iced tea! Absolutely no sugar in it...brewed and unsweetend only! Mmmmm
Coffee! I take it however I can get it--black, with sugar, with cream, double double, flavoured, etc. I LOVE the stuff, but I'm unfortunately very sensitive to caffeine. So I have to avoid it when I'm menstruating. I have low blood pressure usually, so caffeine + bleeding + low blood pressure = feeling faint and nauseated. I also have to avoid coffee on lab days, because I can sometimes get the shakes slightly in my hands. And I need the precision of a surgeon.
BUT, when I can, I love a cup of coffee in the morning. It just makes me so full of happiness. I find that I joke around more, and smile more, and just have so much more pep that lasts throughout my afternoon.
Tehehe
I am a caffeine addict! Love it all - Coffee, tea, diet coke, diet any soda... LOVE IT ALL!! Probably my favorite is diet soda.... mmmmm... ones sounds good right now!!
Unfortunately, we are going to try to start TTC in July and I am trying to stop my bad habit.... I am done to 1-2 drinks a day... And it's killing me!!! I think I might seriously die if I can't have caffeine for 9 months... eekk!!
Jen, it's totally a personal choice, but I wouldn't stress over this too much. Most doctors (all that I've known) say that having 1-2 cups of coffee a day is no big deal, though you should limit it to 1 cup if you intake other caffeine, such as chocolate.
It's no surprise that I am a coffee drinker, since I work for a coffee company. However, over the last 5 weeks or so I've had virtually no desire for coffee. So you never know, when you get pregnant that craving might just take care of itself. Of course, I still have to taste coffee every day, but it's more like a quarter cup now instead of a full one.
I starting cutting back on the caffeine I consume with thoughts of TTC in mind. It won't be so bad this summer when I am off work, but I need my Diet Coke to get me through the morning!
