I just got married in Dec and now that all the wedding planning is over I realized I live in a new town where I don't know anybody- my friends and family are 1 hour away and so is my job- looking for ways to get involved in the community/hobbies and meet new people- any ideas????
Re: Just married new town!
Where do you live and where do you work? What do you like to do?
I'm probably not the best person to give advice on this because I've been living here 2 years and I haven't really joined anything or made too many new friends. But some suggestions I've gotten are volunteering or joining a book club/gym/craft club/etc.
If you have a dog, you can try a dog park. The only new friends I made outside of my new job or my H have been through bringing my dog to the park.
A while back, I met some nice girls from on here at a GTG but then board died and a lot of them migrated to the bump.
Hmm, I agree with the other poster. I have lived in NJ about a year and a half and haven't really found a way to make friends. But that is mostly because I didn't know anyone when I moved here and was pregnant/getting adjusted to becoming a mom so I haven't had a lot of time.
I would start trying to see if there are any clubs to join where people share your interests. I'll wish us all luck in getting out there to meet people!
Welcome to the area!
Tell us some more about yourself. What do you like to do? Do you have any hobbies?
I love to socialize, read, run & just have fun
I feel so out of place still in this town
