Weekend Plans??

What are the DC nesties up to this weekend??

DH and I are headed to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware!  Thank you Living Social deal for a cheap hotel.  I took this afternoon off to avoid traffic and he's picking me up at school at 1.  I am totally excited since our main purpose is to visit one of our favorite breweries -- Dog Fish Head.  Yay!  We have tickets for a tour tomorrow afternoon and then we'll head to their brewpub where we each have a list of 4+ beers we want to try.  I want to spend the afternoon drinking and relaxing and eating, then maybe a walk down the beach.  Should be fun!

Re: Weekend Plans??

  • That sounds amazing!

We have very little planned.  DH wanted to go to the air show at Andrews, but now he says he has to study for the sargeants exam.  So I guess i'll just be relaxing outside and reading.

We have some little things we need to do around the house/yard, but nothing major.  I mostly just want to relax.

ETA:  Oh, and we will be planning and booking some sort of vacation.

  • Saturday- Going to the DC101 Chili Cook-off. I am so excited to see Weezer. Last time I saw them in concert was in the late 90's.

Sunday- Going to nephew's birthday lunch and then hopefully relaxing at home with some type of alcoholic beverage in my hand Big Smile

  • Oh the beach, it should be lovely this weekend, have a great time.

Me - Playdate tomorrow morning at the Reston Arts Festival, some time at the pool with DD and a barbecue with some friends in the evening.

Sunday - Church and a gorgeous day.  We'll probably go somewhere fun after nap in the afternoon.  I'll probably spend nap time doing laundry and maintenance on my garden

  • Tonight: Recovering from this cold/fever I got yesterday and then tonight watching the Office and Parks and Rec on DVR. Very excited that both episodes were long ones last night.

Saturday: Long run with group and then hopefully taking the LOs to the new sprayground opening across the neighborhood from us.

Sunday: Lunch for friend that's leaving DC and hanging outside with the LOs in our wading pool.

I'm so excited to have nice weather and spend time outdoors with the LOs. We're tired of being cooped up inside.

  • @kafunder - are those red sox shirts on your kiddos? if so, love them! are you from MA? i grew up about an hour southwest of boston.

tonight: probably catching up on DVR

tomorrow: sleeping in, maybe rock creek park and a dinner date? something outside since it will be the first rain-free day in like a week!

sunday: laundry, errands, and seeing bridesmaids

I am soooo jealous! I would love to see Weezer but I'm too damn old for those DC 101 things anymore (crowds, port-a-potties, rampant drunkenness). Hope you get a good viewing spot and have a great time!

Today: Regular day off - errands, dr. appt., exercise, and walking down to Friday Night Live in Herndon tonight (live music, mostly covers, food and beer available)

Saturday: Doing stuff around the house and going to a friend's birthday party at night. I'm on a big kick to try to clean up my eating, so most of the day will be researching recipes, making meal plans, shopping, etc.

Sunday: Planning on going to Taste of Arlington

    TTC since Mar. 2010; 6 IUIs 2011 = 2 CPs; BFP (conceived naturally) 12/9/11; m/c 1/7/11
  • Have fun, Stargirl - you'll be on my home turf this weekend :)  If you're into breweries, there's a new-ish one called 16 Mile that opened up in 2009 in Georgetown (depending on how you're driving to the beach, you may pass through there - it's about 25-30 min west of Rehoboth):  http://www.16milebrewery.com/. Looks like they're having a festival there Saturday afternoon, if you're interested and it doesn't interfere with your Dogfish plans:  http://capegazette.villagesoup.com/ae/story/slide-into-the-season-at-summer-jams-fest-of-ale/100445?source=rss

    My plans:

Tonight - DH and my friend's husband have made their own beer and are cracking them open for the first time tonight.  We'll probably have dinner with them afterwards.

Tomorrow - BBQ at a co-worker's house and dinner at BIL/SIL's house.

Sunday - DH is going to the Nats/Orioles game, so I get the day to myself.  I will probably spend it doing something exciting like yardwork...

Thanks!  I think we'll stop by there on our way out this afternoon.  It only adds about 5 minutes on to the route google maps had given us, so 5 minutes for more free beer samples is a trade I am willing to make!  ;-)

Yup, they're RS shirts. That photo was taken last weekend, and I ALWAYS put the kiddos in RS shirts when they play the Yankees. :) I'm from Woburn--about 11 miles north of Boston.

  • Sounds like a fair trade-off to me!  It's pretty easy to find - take South Bedford Street off of the Georgetown Circle (if you're coming into town on Rt 404/9, you'll basically go straight) and drive for about a mile.  Just as the residential area is starting to thin out and the speed limit picks back up, there will be a big sign for it on the left hand side.  Enjoy! :)

  • Today - Nothing and I'm all caught up on my tv shows

Tomorrow - DH is going to clean off the deck and he might grill out

Sunday - DH is doing laundry and who knows what else.

I had surgery on Monday so I'm pretty much useless.

  • hey ladies- we finally have no plans after weeks of going going and spending for family events! so excited for a redbox weekend filled with trying to survive playing tennis

I have gift certificates to use so probably no cooking dinner in my future too!

sadly today at 5 we have our home inspection

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • have fun!!! looks like the weekend will be gorgeous!
  • We have a viewing tonight, not going to the burial tomorrow

DC101 Chili Cookoff all day Sat :) cant wait!!!!!

Sunday a friend of the family is having an open house for her first house.

  • Tonight - just a couple of tv shows to catch up on, and I'll probably read after that. I have to stay up until DH is done w/ work b/c he rode his bike there for Bike to Work day & I don't want him riding home at midnight alone.

Tomorrow & Sunday - nothing specific planned. If it's nice, we might do some exploring around town. We have some house stuff to do (normal chores + the ever-continuing process of getting unpacked & organized), and DH's friend/old boss is visiting family in the area so we might meet up with her for lunch or something.
