anyone know a safe way to restore a white bathing suit?
i have a bathing suit that is a white background with black and red designs. the white part has gotten a little dingy. is there any safe way to lighten the white parts without affecting the other colors? thanks!
Re: anyone know a safe way to restore a white bathing suit?
White vinegar is a good cleaning agent and it should not fade the red and black areas. Whenever I get a new swimsuit, I soak it in the sink with a 2oz of white vinegar and water. It helps set the color.
Your white swimsuit may not return to its original bright white. Sometimes, the pool chemicals change the color permanently.
For all future swimsuits, wash as soon as you get out. When I'm at the gym, I rinse it well in the shower. However, it still has a strong chlorine smell when I get home. I drop it in the sink with Speedo swimsuit wash and let it soak for a few hours or overnight. Then, rinse with cold water. Hang to dry.
