Do people really buy this???

So for all of you who might be "raptured" tomorrow. What about your pets? Here's your solution.

I wonder how many people have bought into this?

  • Wow, I hope people aren't buying this. When the rapture does happen, I think these people will be freaking out that it actually happened, I doubt they're going to be like "Okay, time to get all of those Christians' pets!" Plus, I'm not too familiar with Revelations and the rapture and stuff, but isn't the world supposed to be completely different after Jesus comes back and before the world actually ends? It's not supposed to be like it is now, it's supposed to be chaotic and out of control, right?

  • In catacism class I was told that Animals have no souls and therefore, will not be participants of the rapture.

Revelations is really crazy and difficult to understand. However it's always been my understanding first comes the rapture, then comes 7 years of tribulation, the Jesus' second coming.

What these people seem to be forgetting is where the Bible clearly says in Matthew (I think it's Matthew) that no man and not even Jesus knows when the rapture is coming. They think they're super special and decoded some part of the Bible and figured it out. I really truly wonder what they're going to say/do when the rapture doesn't happe tomorrow.

"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." Mark 13:32

I don't see why they think they know when it will happen when not even Jesus knows.

  • Serious questions:

    1. Isn't the whole idea of the rapture a fairly new one (like mid-1800s)?

    2. Not all Christian denominations believe in the concept, right?

I think the idea of how the rapture will happen (the specific tribulations, when the antichrist will appear, how believers will go to heaven-will they just disappear and their clothes will be left?, etc.) was created in the 1800s, but the Bible talks about Jesus coming back. I think people just tried/try to think of exactly how it will happen (and they use the term "rapture".) I could be totally wrong though...

I would think that all Christian denominations would believe that Jesus is coming back, but maybe not all of them believe in this "rapture" that people talk about.

I don't think it (Judgement Day) will happen the way it's protrayed in the Left Behind series. The word rapture is actually not used in the Bible to describe Judgement Day. I am part of a Christian demonination (we are actually a non-demoninational church) that does not believe that it will happen this way.

Just curious, does your church believe Jesus is coming back (someday)? I bet there are a lot of people who don't think the "rapture" will happen the way people say it will. I haven't read/watched the Left Behind series/movie, but do people actually think it's all going to happen that way? Isn't that series/movie fiction?

I read the series several years ago when I was in college. It's fiction and just the authors portrayal of what he thinks the rapture could be like based on how he interrupts the bible. I think a lot of people who read the series have taken it to be how it will all end.

I have a crazy co-worker who thinks she is a prophet and is one who thinks the world is going to end soon. She had "an episode" today and was on the ground speaking in tongues when the ambulance came to get her. After working with her, I now understand why some people think all Christians are nuts.

    1. Isn't the whole idea of the rapture a fairly new one (like mid-1800s)? I believe the first publications on the rapture were in the 1780's.

    2. Not all Christian denominations believe in the concept, right? I would think all Christian faiths do believe in the rapture. It talks about it in the bible:

"and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

    1 Thess 4.

I think the discrepancy between denominations is more of when the rapture and the second coming of Christ will occur. Some believe they will be one event. Others believe the rapture will occur followed by seven years of tribulation and then the second coming of Christ.

Cracks me up, seriously.  I do hope she is ok but oh my... What an experience!
