Pantry Inventory

Hi all!  I stock up on basics like cream of chicken soup when they're on sale.  Do any of you have some kind of system to keep track of what's in my pantry?  I'm planning on reorganizing everything next weekend.  TIA!

    I have deep shelves and I ensure that the newest items are pushed to the back.  For my basics, that can mean removing six cans to get the two newest cans to the back of the line.  Each line (front to back of cabinet) is a separate item.  All the canned tomatoes are lined up, all the black beans are lined up etc.

    The Out of Milk app has a place where you can put in an inventory of your pantry, then delete when you use the item.  Or a handwritten list would also work.

    My in laws have a food storage system in their basement.  They keep a very detailed excel sheet with what is down there and when it was purchased.  They have it hanging on a clipboard on the first shelf.  They update it monthly.
