So not helpful (long)

So, we got a call at 10:30 last night (when I was in bed) from the ILs to kindly tell us they were coming by today. I have so much work to do and had errands to run as we're gone at my nephew's christening tomorrow so Arek told his mom that she could come but either had to  help me on my errands or watch Lucie at home while I went out to do them. She decided to come with me and it was the most annoying experience.

Now, if I was alone with Lucie, of course I expect that I have to do these things myself, but when you have an able body with you, you assume they'll help you, right?

We get to the store, I get Lucie out of the car, put her in the cart (trying to figure out this seat cover contraption as it was the first time we used it). Diaper bag over my arm, pushing the cart, list in one hand...

I go around the store getting the stuff, we get to the check out line and MIL had about 10 items. She goes first and stands waiting in line for the person in front of her to pay. Meanwhile I'm unloading my cart with like 30 items. She doesn't lift a finger. Then when she pays and I'm standing right next to her, she blatantly covers the ATM machine like I'm going to steal her number!!! It's my turn. There's no bagger, so I start bagging my groceries. She stands there watching. I put them in the cart. We walk to the car and I open the trunk. I assume that while I put Lucie in the car she'll put the groceries in the trunk. No. She gets in the car and leaves me to put mine and her bags in the car.

Lucie poops on the way home. We get home and I get Lucie out of the car and bring her inside. She says she'll watch her while I bring in the groceries. After I bring the groceries in and put them away, I realize she didn't even change her poopy diaper.

Sorry for the essay, it's just irritating. She treats Lucie like a doll. All she does is hold her and Lucie HATES to be held. She just wants to move around. She was squirming and MIL said she must have gas and I said "No, she just doesn't want to be held." She won't ever put her down and then she stinks like her when she leaves! On top of that, I was feeding Lucie lunch and she was taking pictures the whole time and distracting her. Then she tries to keep her from napping and I tell her that she needs to nap. She says that she doesn't look tired and I kindly explain that she might not look tired but she will nap and if she doesn't she will be crabby later on. She tells me that she wants to see her and could I please keep her awake. I put her down for a nap and she slept for 3 hours.... no.. I don't think she was tired at all!

Ok, rant over! Sorry... just can't vent about it to Arek and needed to get that out!
