Hair color in sink

I got hair color in my sink, and now I have purple streaks in it.  Any suggestions for getting it out?  Thanks!

Re: Hair color in sink

  • Any cleaner with bleach.  I prefer Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom with bleach or fantastik with bleach.  Hope that helps. Smile
  • It's porcelain, but some of the glaze is off, and that's where the dye is.

  • 40 volume developer should work. You might have to let it soak for a while.

  • I always just wipe it up with a tissue with alcohol on it.
  • If the other above suggestions don't work, try filling the sink all the way up with water and pull the plug up so the water won't come out. Then add some bleach (maybe 2/3 cup or so) and let it soak for a while (a couple hours or so). Just check periodically to make sure that the water from the sink hasn't drained too much. After a couple hours, drain the sink and try scrubbing a little more. Hopefully that works.

If the stain is only on a small part of the sink, I'd skip the above recommendation and just spray a bleach cleaner on that spot and let it sit for a couple hours (spraying periodically so that it doesn't dry up).
