We've been looking at houses, off and on, for about a year now. The weekend before last, we randomly hit up an open house and fell in love. Friday, we decided to put in an offer, and after a little back and forth, they accepted. We move in a month!!
The house is in Anderson, ridiculously close to everything and right off the 5 mile trail - perfect for my running/biking addiction! It's gorgeous and well-cared for with tons of updates. The sellers are motivated so it's actually in the lower end of our price range, with nearly everything we were looking for, at about 30k less than most of the other houses we'd looked at!
Apparently there was already one inspection - someone else was going to buy it but backed out, even though the inspection only showed one crack in the garage -caused by a tree that no longer exists - and the sellers are getting it fixed. We're going to have our own inspection after they do, but we're not anticipating finding any deal-breakers.
I hate packing and moving with a passion, but I'm totally stoked about being a homeowner!!

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
