At the G2G on Saturday, we chose The Help by Kathyrn Stockett as the June book.
We would like to do another in person G2G and an e-discussion in June. Then when the movie comes out in August a G2G to see the film.
Poll for June In-Person G2G:

Also - any suggestions for where?
The in-person G2G was a lot of fun, so if you didn't do book club in May and are thinking about joining in this month - do it!

Re: Book Club - June Book
The 18th is a knottie's wedding and July 2nd is the holiday weekend so I voted for June 25th.
If no one volunteers to have it at their place we could do it at mine. I'm not totally sure we'll be unpacked by then, but we can try. I'm in Las Colinas/Irving.
I voted other as I am pretty flexible at this point.
And yes it was a lot of fun!
Edit: I'm always up for hosting but no one really ever wants to come to Denton and we would lose a few people because of the distance.
I voted June 25th. June 18th is my birthday and the holiday weekend won't work for me either.
I might be able to offer up my house to host. Assuming no one minds my mega-attention hog dog.

I was just looking at the question list from the last one. I didn't realize it was going to be like taking HS English all over again.
Oops, duplicate post.
My plan is to read the book and consume the snacks.... and perhaps listen intently.
The 25th would be best for me. I will actually be there this time! Sorry I couldn't make it Saturday :-(

I voted for July 2nd since I have a fundraising benefit on the 18th and will be in CS for a wedding on the 25th.
I actually already own this book so Yea! Just need to read it
I LOVED this book! I was bummed I couldn't make it the month, I'd really like to come to the next one! I could do either the 18th or 25th, but the 18th would be better.
FYI, this is a GREAT book to listen to on audio if you commute. You can probably get it on CD from your library, or download it from itunes.
Ooooh, I can do that!!!! Let's coordinate awesome snacks (if I can come).
Hey! It flows a lot better in person...when I copied the questions in from the word doc this morning, it did look a little daunting!
Re: Snacks - We did potluck this time and it worked out well - more people for this book = more yummy snacks!
Renee - Irving/Las Colinas works for me and it's pretty central. Tiffany - where are you at now? I know you moved recently....
I feel the same way about this one! I have already read it but as soon as Lacey mentioned it I was like "YES!!!" I am going to do a re-read for the book club and can't wait to talk about it!
I'm in West Carrollton so pretty central overall. I will need to ask DH and it would have to be on the 25th for me, though.
I was kidding. Sort of.
I was reading through the questions and was thinking "This sounds like a lot of work!!!!". I am glad that y'all had fun though.
If Tiffany wants to host this one and I can get the next month that would be fine, or vice versa. If I did it this month it would need to be on the 25th too.
Angela said she would host again too. And I love to host but unfortunately, I live in BFE.
June is open for me so just let me know what is decided. And I have decided I will always read and try to attend but even if I can't, this will get me reading again which is good.
With All the Trimmings
Just do it!
As of now, both the 18th and 25th are wide open.
Julie - it's much less high-school-english-y in person! We had fun!
I enjoyed the potluck style, and I'd be willing to host at some point, but I'm in Dallas so it would be kind of far for a lot of you. I'm pretty close to the High Five (just northeast of it).
