Grandma's 75th birthday- ideas?

She is my last living grandparent, so I want to do something special for her.  She turns 75 next sunday.  She doesnt drive anymore, and rarely leaves the house.  She hardly watches tv, but does like to listen to her radio and "read" catalogues that come in the mail.

We plan to spend the day with her next sunday, bring her a cake.

So, I was thinking we could get her:

75 gifts of things she likes/needs and uses almost every day.

Make her some freezer meals.

Fruit of the month club or get a local farm to deliver veggies to her door.

Any suggestions?

  • freezer meals are a great idea. fresh fruit and veggies too. maybe put up a bird feeder outside a window she passes or sits by a lot and get her some extra seed?

     other ideas...

For mother's day my mom got my grandma an assortment of greeting cards and we get her envelopes and stamps every year for christmas.

ps- excuse the horrible punctuation and grammar. i'm typing with one hand and holding a very wiggly stanton with the other

  • I like emily's ideas. You could also get her magazine subscriptions to give her something to read

  • I know we bought my grandmother a hummingbird feeder for Mothers Day.

Also we got my grandmother some rocking chairs for her to sit in.

My grandmother is pretty easy to buy for though....we either get her something for her house, gaudy jewlery, or bright colored clothes.

I really like the rocking chair idea...she loves sitting outside!  I just found Sam's club sells them and of course Cracker barrel.

Thanks for all of your help ladies!
