K has had a cough for about 4 weeks now (DH thinks that it went away and came back in that time, but I am not sure). We have seen the ped twice for it, and both times, they said it just needs to run its course. About a week ago, his snot turned from clear to yellow/green (sorry). Then, on Friday, when he went to bed, about an hour later, he started screaming bloody murder. He was standing at the crib when we went in to check. I put him back down, and he started again. I held him, and he was fine (laying on back and all). That entire night, he did this. Finally, we put him on the living room floor with a comforter underneath to let him wiggle around (he was moving quite a bit). At about 1:00, he was starting to giggle and play, so we put him in his crib, and he cried/screamed a little, but then crashed till about 7. Saturday was the same, he would be happy when we held him, but then in his crib (lying down and sitting/standing) he would scream. When I went in there to put my hand on his back, he would calm down, but the minute I took it off and began to leave, he would start again. Happened last night too. My DH now has our colds, so he took K and himself to Urgent Care this morning to make sure nothing was too wrong (and try to get some antibiotics for himself). Anyone experience this with a toddler? Is it just a separation thing?

Re: Screaming at night ?
O is doing the same thing... I was wondering if he was too hot/cold or maybe the fan was bothering him.... but as soon as he is in bed with us he sleeps great... and sometimes thinks its time to play.... then i take him back to his crib and like clockwork he starts screaming.... so i have no idea why they are doing this but i just gave in and let him sleep with us....
maybe others can provide some insight!
HAHA! Are kids are too much alike! El has done this off and on for the last few weeks, she did it last night too.
I went in picked her up, we rocked for a little bit, and then I laid her down, she instantly got up and started all over again. I laid her back down and left the room, she fussed for a while longer but eventually went back to sleep, maybe 10min? I chalk it up to teeth.
But it could be night terrors.? I'm not sure. I know she's fine, nothing wrong. I've been trying to keep her on the same sleep schedule. So she's not a crab at daycare.
