How do you advise we kill these going forward? We were lucky and saw this one climb out of a vent, so we trapped and flushed it. Any other suggestions?

Re: Ick- House Centipede
I just googled these and thanks for solving this mystery! I had never heard of them before.
We've seen these around the apartment. Ick! I had no idea they were poisonous. Now I'm terrified....
I have no idea how to kill them other than the old fashioned way.
This is the only thing I don't like about the warmer weather, all the bugs that are creeping up.

I just squish them.
I hate bugs. (you should see me in the garden. full of girly squeals while I'm harvesting or planting or whatever. gardening gloves don't keep my hands clean...their purpose is to protect me from creepy crawlies!)
I read all about them eating bad bugs, but anything with that many legs and jaws and a poisonous bite has to go.
I was hoping I wouldn't have to get close enough to it again to capture and flush. Ick!

Ugh - I came across one of those while gardening Saturday. Bugs don't normally bother me too much, but centipedes freak me out.
My mom has something similar to this that lets you capture bugs without getting too close to them (or get spiders when their on the ceiling). She usually deposits them outside, but you could also flush them: http://www.amazon.com/Fascinations-Spider-Catcher-Bug-Remover/dp/B001AMYFP8/ref=pd_sim_ol_3
