Everyone ok after the tornadoes?
Channel 5 has excellent helicopter coverage right now. It looks devastating in North Minneapolis.
Re: Everyone ok after the tornadoes?
Hope so!
We got through unscathed.
My brother called to tell me that he wanted to see a tornado, so drove up towards Forest Lake. He was all excited to tell me that he found one and was taking pictures, and then his phone cut-out. I haven't heard from him since.
Hoping he is ok!
(He isn't a spotter or anything - just your standard stupid 20-something boy)

Unscathed here.
I'm at my office right now. If it gets bad here, I'm pretty sure I'm screwed. My floor is all windows and I'm a ways away from a stairwell.

My ILs live in Harmony, MN and a huge tornado hit the town. The farm my FIL works on was completely destroyed.
Things aren't good right now. Lots of damage and people lost their homes.
The sirens weren't working, so not sure how much warning anyone got either.

we're good here too. For once, the tornado didn't head straight towards Hugo.
ILs live in forest lake, but they're ok too. My dad lives in Fridley, heard the tornado come by. He got lucky...lost his front window and the power mast on his roof.

I had to pick up a few shingles out of my lawn in C00n Rapids (didn't want it to get censored by the nest). Luckily no damage to my house, but a few trees lost some branches and the neighbors lost some shingles. Scary day.
My sister is in SLP by 100/394 and she's got trees down in the streets and some fell on other buildings at her complex. She was evacuated for about an hour, and now she's home but she doesn't have power. At least she doesn't have a ton of food in her fridge!
I have a lot of family and friends that live on the Northside and while no one was hurt several have lost their homes.
We had a scary few hours when my best friend couldn't locate her Dad. He is a dentist and his office is on W.Broadway. He had gone to the office and we were watching the news coverage and could clearly see that his office had been destroyed.
My parents live in Golden Valley and didn't get any structural damage but their basement is flooded prettly badly.
Please send your T&Ps to the people of North Mpls, many of whom were already marginalized and struggling. This is going to make things 10 times worse and I'm Extremely concerned about the aftermath of this politically.
of course, living in the south, we're fine. our friend evan's parents house was destroyed though. : ( other friends have trees down in their yards but nothing more.
and to the a-holes who are LOOTING in the aftermath of this... i have no words.
I agree. :-( I work in NorthEast and while there are just a few trees down here I've seen pictures online of some massive devastation in parts of North MPLS.
Our house is okay in SLP. I heard about some flying debris at West End but we didn't see any of that at our house. Our power flickered but stayed on and that was the worst of it. I cannot imagine how awful it would feel to lose everything. :-(
