How was everyone's weekend?
Ours was busy, but it was great spending time with SIL and our nephew. The boys played well together most of the time. There were a few moments of not wanting to share toys, but that was to be expected. Sunday we went out to Strasburg RR, and the boys loved it. Xander got a few more Thomas the tank engine toys, which made him happy
My SIL and I both share a hatred for the puppy currently. The puppy is huge and mean to the little ones. The puppy attached my nephew when they first arrived on Thursday, then Saturday she almost chocked Aiden with her rope they put her on outside, and she bit and knocked Xander over too. My FIL can't do anything with the puppy because the puppy is too strong for him to control. My SIL and I flat out told MIL that we don't want the puppy near the boys and that we don't feel safe with her there.
We should hopefully have our cable and internet back up at the apartment today!
Re: Weekend wrap-up
I am so happy to hear that Xander liked Strasburg RR. We are hoping to take Bella there this summer, she loves trains. I was afraid she may be a little to young still to enjoy it.
Yay for cable and internet being back on soon!!!
Weekend was pretty good, but mostly surrrounded the shower.
Friday dh and I went shopping and he was so awesome about the bazillion tops I tried on for the shower and did a great job picking one. Yay for A Pea in a Pod clearance rack at Macy's.
Saturday - I was able to fit in a manicure and pedicure, the manicure was the 'new' shellac kind I am pretty excited to see how it holds up on my flimsy nails (they are growing fast but still as flimsy as every
Sunday - Shower
Our turnout was pretty good at 48 people and the hall was gorgeous. My sister did an amazing job with the tables decorations and our cake was very cute I just wished it looked as nice in the pictures as it really was. DH was so, so, so awesome that day I can't say I have ever seen him so attentive to me and any of my needs. He was adorable to boot. Our gender reveal went really well (we pulled out a really long banner from a gift bag in the middle of opening presents). My nieces came back to the head table with about 40 of the candle give-aways because everyone guessed boy. LOL We ended up handing them out as people were leaving. We received so many awesome gifts that I was exhausted by the end of the opening, like sweating and red faced gross exhausted (but happy). Now to be going through them all and heading back for the essentials we still really need.
I was excited to see that 'My-So-Called-Life' was on Netflix and able to be streamed so I started watching that.
I cleaned the house top to bottom, 1st floor on Saturday, 2nd floor on Sunday. Washed all baby stuff and put it away, put the sheet/sheet saver on the crib, it really is starting to look like a nursery! Got groceries, wrote out a few more thank you notes. Nothing exciting.
Dh was at that wedding I really wanted to go to in Mich so I tried to keep busy. It was hard though, because I was scrubbing bathrooms while he was hanging out with friends - another life isn't fair moment.

Wendy I saw the picture of your cake last night, it looked great!
Jen, I think Bella will love Strasburg RR.
Jen P, yay for the nursery coming together!

Friday we did nothing. Watched some netflix and had a nice dinner with my grandma.
Sat. Off to Buffalo. We helped BIL do some packing for his move next weekend into a house with his gf. And then helped move some small stuff over to the house. We had a nice breakfast with him, and I'm starting to get to know his gf a bit more and I really like her. Also that night we went to DH's cousin's house for a houswarming/birthday party for her and her DH. I love their house and how they decorated. And huge bonus it came with a bar that was handmade in the basement. It is huge and so well made. Had way to much to drink and being to tired almost passed out on the car ride home.
Sun: FIL made blueberry pancakes for brunch. YUM! then we headed home and I ran a bunch of errands and started doing my clothes changeover.
It was another busy weekend, but it was nice to see family.

Our weekend was nuts!
I had some of the girls over for a jewelry party on Friday night after taking a half day to clean and get some more work done on the final paper for school. Mid-way through the party I had to step away and take a team call to review the paper and make our plans for the weekend to finish it. Back downstairs to the girls and they'd decided to call the guys and go to a strip club. Totally random. But it was easy to get the guys in for the plan. Got home at 3am.
Saturday I spent most of the day working on the paper, then helping Drew get set up for a bbq we were hosting for his coworkers. Again, I had to take a short break to check in with the team. Not quite as late, but neither of us were feeling well to begin with so we were good with getting to bed a little early.
Sunday we both got hit really hard with something that felt like the flu. Never got out of our jammies and rarely moved from the couch. I'm better today, but he's staying home to rest more. I got the paper finished up and submitted- all 154 pages of it. Feels great to be done, but after all we did, I'm exhausted!

my read shelf:
Thanks!!! I just had a piece during lunch. LOL I am still waiting for pictures, so far the only ones I've been tagged in are from my sister's ipod and are crazy blurry.
I have had two shellac manicures and I love them. I have hard, good nails anyways but this stuff lasts forever. The last one was red and last 4 weeks before it just looked weird how far it had grown out. Right now I have a french manicure so I can hopefully wear it longer. Love them!!
We did a bunch of stuff around the house to continue with cleaning out the nursery and also because we have my stepbrother and his wife staying with us for a night, before we go to the beach next weekend. Had breakfast with some friends on Saturday and then a cookout with them that night. I spent most of the time playing with my friends 4 month old.
Also ran a bunch of errands to find me a darn bathing suit. I want to be daring and wear a bikini because it is the first time I do not care about my lack of abs, but with my ginormous boobs, that makes finding one pain in the butt.

French manicure is exactly what I was going to do next. I am pretty excited about the whole thing, I'm not interested in anything like acrylic but this could work for me for sure.
Locky-Loo - Glad the shower went well! I'll have to get on FB and look for pics!
I survived my sister's bachelorette party AND the rapture, so I can't really complain
I didn't get stuck paying for everything so I'm happy about that. The one girl I was worried would get us booted form the hotel actually behaved and my sister had a blast, which is all that matters. I have a hilarious picture of my sister holding her huge penis cake, but I'm not going to post it on here.
When I saw your post I totally wondered about whether or not you got stuck paying for everthing. Thank goodness.
Glad you survived the b-party and didn't have to pay for everything.
Well Thursday it took me over 4 hours to get home and I can usually do it in 3.5. I totally should have flown home, when the tix were uber cheap.
Friday and Saturday were the Longaberger trip with my mom and her friend. It was fun and I didn't spend too much money. The company has been hit really hard by the economy and it was evident this trip.
Sunday my mom and I went to Ikea and homegoods. Ikea was a bust and now i'm thinking I'm going to return the prints I got at target for the office. I did get new towels at Homegoods for the bathroom with the new colors after the remodel.
Today I have been painting a ton of trim and I am now super tired. DH has golf tonight and I'm wondering if I can stay up until he gets home.
