WDYT...Vow Renewal Dresses

Rich and I are going back to Hawaii for our 1 year anniversary.  Still haven't decided on which island, but that's not the point.  We want to do a vow renewal on the beach at sunset, yeah corny but we're romantic like that.

I've picked out a few dresses that I like.  I'm looking for something light that I can wear on the beach.  These are all from Nordstrom.  Which do you like the best?  If you want to recommend another one please be my guest.  I'd like to stay under $200, but the cheaper the better.

Re: WDYT...Vow Renewal Dresses

  • I like both 4 and 5, but voted for 5.  I'd have to see you in #4; I think it looks good on the model but wouldn't be flattering on a lot of real people (myself included).  If it's cute on you, though, I like it better than 5.

  • I'm on the same page as Laura.  I voted for #4 but think I would need to see it first to be absolutely sure.  #5 would be my other choice.  I'd go for a shorter length if you're doing the beach.  Both of them are really pretty!

  • #4 & 5 are my favorites.  I love #4 but don't know if I can pull it off.

I think I might get them both online and try them on to see which works best or go to Nordy and hope that they have them there.

  • Im with everybody else. I love and voted for 4. It would depend on how it fits though.

I like #4 and 5 best for a beach renewal, and #5 reminds me of the J. Crew "Sophia" dress.  I bought an ivory one on eBay for like $30, and I love it!  Disclaimer: it was also my BM's dress.  They make it in short (which is a little more than knee-length) and long.  It's the nicest silk tricotine, and just hangs beautifully.

Laura, I just bought another one on eBay that is silk chiffon, to wear to a wedding this weekend.  Big Smile  I was kind of indifferent to the fabric choice, and this one was the right size (ugh, going up!) and a nice color, and again only $30.

  • I love dress #1, it's beautiful and romantic. But not very beachy.

For a beach renewal (totally jealous BTW) I think 5 would look gorgeous on you.

  • I voted for #1, but I like #5 too, and that seems to be closer to the general consenus. :) Good luck choosing and have fun! :)

Mine was right around there, too - final sale with an extra discount.  It's actually hanging near our back door because I have to take it to the tailor to get the straps shortened, but it's totally worth it IMO.  I think it's a pretty universally flattering dress, and will work great with a baby bump!!
