WWYD: Husband attempting cooking?
So my husband volunteered to cook me something on my birthday. This is BIG news, as I can count on one hand the number of times he's cooked something since I've known him (not counting eggs and microwaving).
I need ideas on what to have him cook. I'm so excited about it I can't decide. I'm gonna go ahead and say that calories don't matter here. He has mostly all day to make it, but I'm thinking it might be best if it's something he can pop in the oven before I get home, rather than cooking right before I get home and worrying about timing. I like pasta and cheese.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Bonus question: What you have your husband make for you?

My husband is more of a baker and he baked a cheesecake for my birthday a few years ago. It was divine.
He cooks as well and he makes a baked macaroni and cheese that is out of this world...I need for him to make that again.
If he's an inexperienced cook, I'd probably just let him pick out whatever he was comfortable with. If he wants ideas... a gourmet mac and cheese of some sort sounds good
My DH doesn't cook much, but he's good at fajitas, your basic Indian curry, and egg dishes. A couple of months back, he also made some impressive-looking lamb for himself and a couple of dinner guests (they all said it was good.)
