gobble gobble

MH just texted me this photo.

Apparently, we have some wild turkeys in our backyard. Note: We do not live in the boonies....we are close enough to a main/busy street where this is VERY weird.

Hopefully they'll be gone by the time we get home from work...or maybe they'll be hanging out on our deck.

Wild Turkeys everywhere, hope they're gone soon.

  • You have a really pretty backyard!  Turkey's are definitely random!

What is missing is the side flower bed with hydrangeas and rose bushes (which have not bloomed yet this year). In the back left corner, we planted flowers in Tessie's memory. They last from March-end of April; tulips, hyacinth, daffodils, etc.

  • I know a number of men (none in my family, thank you) who would be anxious to shoot those bitches and eat 'em up!

How pretty!  Tulips are my favorite!

  • LOL, they're in our area too. Bunnies, ducks... the saddest thing was a deer running down the yellow lines on a main street in my sis' town. And my BIL saw a bear not long ago. This is a VERY heavily populated area.

I haven't seen a single turkey in my area, but we have a ton of deer.  In fact I was walking the other day with Robert and there was one about 5 ft from me and he didn't even budge.  We never have seen a bear, but I know the are lurking all of NJ now.

  • My first thought: YUM!

We had a turkey in the yard last time I was at my grandparents' house, but they do live semi-secluded (neighbors on both sides, but just woods behind them and across the street).

Yeah, we've taken too much of their land.  I feel bad.... and worry about the dogs.
