BR: Does anyone make or plan on making baby food?
I'm really interested in it. It seems pretty easy. I have a mini good processor already so it seems I should only need a steamer and some ice cube trays. Thoughts? I'd love any feedback.
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

GAH, Nooner in a baby post!
Seriously, from what I understand it's super simple. There's a WCer who has a bunch of blog posts about it, might help:

and I know my friend used this site when she started doing it:

HTH!

We did one veggie every 3 days for about a month, and then we started incorporating fruits. We didn't want her to get a taste for sweet things and start rejecting vegetables, and it seemed to work because she still is not a fan of sweet things. (Vanilla pudding is about the sweetest treat she likes.) And I'm sure your doctor told you, the reason for waiting 3 days between new foods is to look for allergies.
Once you get a few things he likes, you can start doing combinations too. We would occasionally do like sweet potato and corn together, broccoli with a little cheese, etc.
I will be making as much of my own baby food as possible, and already make a lot of it for the baby at work.
Fruits and vegetables can be introduced at the same time, around 4-6 months. Some people say veg. first because fruits are sweeter, but most studies have shown it really doesn't matter. You just have to make sure to go a few days in between introducing new foods incase something causes an allergy.
Once they've been on very thin fruits/veg/cereal for at least a month or two you can up the consistancy to make it thicker, and start introducing mixes (potatoes and spinach for example). You can also start adding in some meats at this time, but again, making sure they're thinned out. Dairy also comes in around 6-8 months.
You'll know when he's ready for foods that he has to chew a little.
