makeup rave

I am makeup deficient, but since I went back to work after LO was born, I knew I needed something to try to tame the dark circles under my eyes.

I tend to just buy drugstore makeup, unless I know I'll love something, so a few weeks ago, I bought the Cover Girl + Olay concealer and I LOVE it.

It feels cool and soothing when you apply it, and it is so creamy that it is very easy to pat on. It helps to even out my dark circles and ruddy areas without looking caked on. I haven't had any blemishes since I bought it so I don't know how it would work for those, but I imagine it would work well because it is so creamy.

So, keeping in mind I know nothing about makeup, I give this 2 thumbs up.

  • Oooh... thanks for sharing.

    I'll play, too.  2 items:

    - NYC Smooch Proof Lip Stain... I bought some of this stuff for like $4, because I decided I needed something brighter to put under my lipgloss.  It comes in a tube that's like a marker.  Love it.  And, the berry color is just was I was looking for.  I've actually decided to keep this, and return the expensive Benetint I bought.

    - Urban Decay "Rollergirl" pallette, a summer special pallet, comes with 4 eyeshadows and an eyeliner.  Love, love, love the eyeliner.  It's a brown'ish color called "Whiskey."  And, surprisingly, I also love the bright pink eyeshadow that comes with it.  It blends down to a wonderful pink color.  The other 3 colors are pretty nice neutrals.

  • I've heard good things about he Cover Girl + Olay concealer, I might give it a try, thanks!

And I have a product rave that I've been meaning to post.

I bought the Urban Decay Naked palette awhile back and looooove the colors. On the day of the White House Easter Egg Roll, I used it along with Urban Decay's eye shadow primer. Ch Ch Chia for attest to the fact that it was hot. as. hell. I had a total rolling sweat going and the rest of my makeup all melted off in no time. But when I got home my eye makeup still looked perfect. I couldn't believe it. It wasn't creased or even faded.  That's some powerful stuff!

it was hottER than hell!  and, her makeup did look great.  :)

I think one of the shades in my new palette is one of the shades that's in the naked pallete.

I'm going to have to try the primer!

  • I love me some lip stains...I can wear chapsick over top :) I'm going to try this! Much cheaper than my Stila brand stuff...

I'm not used to lipstains, so mine could be total crap... but, even if it's crappier than Stila, it's reeeally cheap, I like the color, and it lasts for a good portion of the day  (if not the whole day)!  :)
