I think I have asked you this before, but what shelter do you foster with? I am thinking of going to BARCs on Monday to apply to foster a litter. Don't you get attached? If you foster kittens, do you find that they get adopted easily? TIA!

Hey sorry - just seeing this now.

I foster through the MD SPCA.  I'm sure BARCS can always use foster parents.  It's kitten season now, so foster parents are definitely in demand.  We have 2 boys we're independently fostering until space opens up at the shelter, so H says no foster kittens until the boys are in.

I definitely miss them when they're gone, but we only keep our fosters until they are 8 weeks old (and typically get them at 5-6 weeks), so I know that they're leaving at some point.  I think it helps going into it knowing that they're just temporary guests and we're helping to socialize them so they can be a part of someone's family.  The only foster I've ever really wanted to foster fail with was a puppy we had in October/November last year.  I still miss him.

Typically after we take them back they are at the shelter for a week or so until they get adopted.

    GL!!
