Ladies, this is a link to a Photographer friend's album of images he took immediately following the tornado in Joplin. I'm so proud of Sam for ensuring these moments, while devastating and so wretchedly sad, are documented and saved for future generations.

Re: Pictures of Joplin
9 Glorious Months!
My Photography Blog!
wow...
i'm gonna be controversial here...you know what makes me really sad? there were plenty of fundraisers and plenty of attention when Japan had the tsunami. why do we care less about our own neighbors? how can we help these people? how can i donate to them? and why isn't there a very visible way to do that yet? these tornados have been hitting the mid-west for over a month, no? makes me sick. if you know of anything, please let me know!!
Our grocery stores gave the ability to add $$$ onto your bill to donate during the first round of catastrophic tornadoes, so I'm hoping they do that again for these people.
I think if you go to cnn.com they have links to trustworthy organzations that are accepting donations.
In case anyone else was wondering...I found a list of donation sites on the Red Cross website. http://www.redcross.org/en/otherdonationsites/
The grocery store - that's a cool idea!!
I don't mean to be negative, I just feel like when something happens in another country it's IN YOUR FACE. I just feel so bad for these people...and I hope that they get the help they need very soon. So tragic.

Jeni, thanks for sharing. These images remind me on the devastation I see in our neighboring towns every day from the Good Friday tornadoes to hit St Louis. The sad thing is pictures cannot even begin to show the true devestation from these storms. Seeing it first hand just takes your breath away and makes you that much more grateful to have survived untouched.
For anyone who is interested in donating to these homeless/helpless victims, you can visit the websites for The Red Cross, The Salvation Army and The United Way.
Praying for all of those affected
