This is true!  A friend of mine is highly allergic to carmine and it's actually in quite a few different food products.  Gross!!!

  • I know what a black hole is and why it works the way it does.  Kind of hard to explain in type, but basically it is a star that has collapsed in on itself.  Its mass is so high in such a small space that its escape velocity is faster than the speed of light, and therefore no light can escape from it.  I can explain better in person.  :o)

I'm eating yogurt as I read this so I check the label - mine (Yoplait) is actually colored with annatto - which is "a derivative of the achiote trees of tropical regions of the Americas"

Whew - no beetles in my yogurt!

I can add to this:  What she described above is generally called The Event Horizon, aka the entry of the black hole.  Meaning the hole is black because the light emitted will never reach the observer (us).

Lol, I thought a turd burglar was someone that tries to bust in your stall even though it's locked.

They must use different coloring in different varieties. Is yours strawberry? You will mostly see it in stawberry or red/pink yogurt.

  • That plastic thing on the end of a shoelace is called an aglet. Great word if you like crosswords but not nearly as exciting as turd burglars or beetle yogurt.

I just looked at all of my yogurt- Yoplait seems to use dyes (Red #40) and Beet juice- and I'll be honest, I first read it as "Beetle Juice" and had a small laugh that they'd actually label as that.  :)

Oh it's true.  When my brothers and I were younger we thought this was HILARIOUS and whenever anyone would touch our elbows we would should "Stop touching my Wenus!" Confession: I still think it's a little funny.

haha ya it is true :)  Brothers!  One day my brother told me this he was probably 20 at the time and making immature jokes.  The next day, no kidding, I subbed in a 6th grade class where they were doing research on the internet and as I walked by there was a group of boys giggling and one asked me what a wenus was.  hahaha good thing my brother told me the day before or I wouldn't have known how to respond LOL.

For reals?  One of the girls I work with has a Chinese Crested and I feel you would have to wax a dog to get them to look like him.  There is literally no hair his body... not even peach fuzz.  The only hair on him are his feet (he looks like the Grinch) and his head like he's got a little hairdo going on.  He even gets a little farmers tan since he's so ridiculously naked!
