I am back for 2 days, then off for probably 7.
Surgery is Thursday. Finally! I had another attack last night - hopefully my last!
BIL's memorial is going to be a back yard/open house style get-together. No church service since he wasn't religious. It's taking place at my house. On Friday. Gulp. I will just be getting home from the hospital when people start showing up. Thank God for my mom and sister. They plan to help out a lot.
Any suggestions for books to read while at the hospital? I'm thinking of buying The Help to read on my Nook.

So I was catching up on MM, and I open the redneck kiddie pool post. The second or third post down is a picture of a man swimming in the back of a pick up truck. The man in the photo looks exactly like my dad. Like...I would almost put money down that it IS my dad. OMG how embarrassing.
D&M- Good luck with the surgery. And your family is in my t&p. Please try to take it easy on Friday.
As for books, I might also get something a bit lighter/easier to read. I know I have a more difficult time concentrating when I am on pain meds. While The Help isn't a hard read per se, getting use to the language style at first takes some concentration.

DH, my best friend and I are going to Chicago tomorrow and I'm just about bouncing off the walls excited.
I've had a rough couple of days because I have family that lives in Joplin, MO where the tornado hit and it's been a frantic mess trying to locate family. Thankfully, all but one great aunt is accounted for and ok.
Good luck with surgery and the memorial service. I can suggest A Discovery of Witches by Debroah Harkness. But I'm nut sure it's your style.

Have fun in Chicago. What are your plans? Shopping or Site seeing? I'm glad to hear that nearly everyone in your family is accounted for. Scary!
Not much going on around these parts right now. Anyone ever build there own home by chance? DH& I were talking and he's thinking that is what he wants to do for our next place. So we would leave this place be in an apartment for 2 years or so and then build?
People get so dramatic over the dumbest things, and I love it. Great entertainment.
There is a post on D&R right now about flowers that finally bloomed after 3 years of this person living in her house. And one is pink and the other is red. And they are right next to eachother. What were the previous owners thinking?!?! Oh the HORROR!!!
Haha. People would fall over if they saw my yard right now. I have a giant planter with purple flowers, and a small planter with dying pink flowers, and weeds in my flowers boxes. Nothing goes together.
Oh and there are about 15 beer bottles scattered about the deck right now from Saturday that have yet to be picked up (thanks DH and friend).

Haha your yard sounds like mine! Actually I think H picked up all the beer cans, but only recently.
And I was given some plants for Mother's Day - none of them match, but I planted them in my flower bed anyway. Hehe.
I need the motivation fairy to stop by here. I don't feel like doing anything.
So far today has started off decently. I think we need to see new pics of kiddos and preggo wop!

I am so distracted that work is the last thing I want to be doing. I can't concentrate. I just need to make it to tomorrow at 5:00.
