Right now the last toll I heard was 126. Last news report says 116.
One of my friends is doing clinicals at our hometown hospital. Some of the nurses were returning this morning from Joplin and just the stories she told me break my heart. Like one of the nurses.. had a cousin who was in the ICU at the hospital in Joplin.. She was flown out of the hospital and later found dead.
We are moving on Wednesday and then we're going to Joplin Thursday, as well as probably other days after that, being as we are only 30 minutes away. Some of my co-workers are donating items for us to take when we leave town. Awesomeness. Even now my GM and some co-workers are going to drive the 3 hours to volunteer for a couple of days this week! The company is donating paper towels, toilet paper, plastic silverware packets, and to-go cups and lids!! This makes me happy.
Anyhow, just figured I'd give this "update." .. Trying to brace myself for Thursday.

This. I think it's great your going to help out. We don't know anyone in Joplin, but when they had bad tornadoes in the St.Louis area earlier this year it was pretty scary for awhile there. Good luck and stay safe!
