I was just laid off
I'm pretty shocked, I was not expecting it at all. We'll be okay, I have a couple of months to find something before my package runs out, but this certainly wasn't in the cards!
If you happen to hear of openings in HR or marketing/PR, I'd love to hear about them - time to hit the job applications hard and heavy!

We were reorganizing as a company, and HR was "in scope" - but we thought we were in the clear. My boss found out last week that our location would have to reduce by one, and I guess I'm it! It just came as a complete shock, none of us were really expecting it.
I'm going to wallow in self-pity today, then get cracking on the next step. I'm determined to turn this into a blessing rather than a curse.

check out nationwide- i think they had a recruiter opening a while ago.
i'll check principal to see if there is anything.
Definitely check out Aviva, but I'l forewarn you that I know of four people who have applied there in the last six months and they all got the run around from HR and the recruiter and ultimately got very frustrated. One of them was promised a call back at this date and time and never heard anything. When they called to follow up with a voicemail they still never heard back. Very frustrating. I know a couple people who work out there and said their HR department is notorious for leaving people hanging.
