What kind of diet are you on?

Anyone on a diet?  I'm trying to start a new routine.  Normally, I low-carb, but last time it didn't really do much and I know it's not the healthiest one to do.

Anyone have one they recommend?

thanks!

I believe a few ladies on her do WW.

I should probably be on a diet, but as of right now I'm just going to the gym, and trying to eat healthier. (lots more fruits and veggies, and less sugars).

  • I keep adding work out videos to netflix telling my self I'll get up and do them, and haven't. As far a eating we tend to eat more white meat then red. lots of fish and chicken, and veggies. but most days on i'm the see-food diet I see it, I eat some, I feel guilty later.

I'm back on WW now, well doing it on my own, not paying for the program.  I did it a little while ago and lost 10lbs in 3 weeks but then stopped and I just started it again this week.  Before that I lost 50lbs by using sparkpeople.com and going to the gym 3-4 times a week.  I need to get back to that but I'm just lazy.

  • Another WW girl here.  I just rejoined a couple of weeks ago with my mom and sis.  It's great to have people to go with to help keep you accountable.  I really like the new program.  It's not restrictive at all.

  • I'm looking for some kind of maintenance diet.  I don't like dieting at all and right now I'm confortable at this weight, but I'd like to make sure I don't gain anything back.

    I'll be reading for suggestions.

  • I'm doing Slow Carb (different than low carb) from The Four Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. You eat protein and slow-to-digest carbs like beans/lentils, and you get every Saturday as a cheat day. When I was following this religiously and not massively cheating (i.e.: let's eat an entire package of cookie dough in 2 days) I was losing about .75lbs a week.

  • I am using myfitnesspal.com basically just counting calories. Then I am working out on top of it... It was free, so I figure it couldn't hurt. They have it online or an app version. So far I really like it! I have lost 7 lbs in 6 weeks - not as fast as I would have liked, but I think I am gaining a bunch of muscle, due to my knee surgery and being down for 6 weeks.

  • Being pregnant, I'm doing the opposite of losing weight.  But before the wedding, I used:

    http://www.livestrong.com/myplate/

to help track calories, and really liked it...

I've never been into "diets" - I just try to eat healthy and go to the gym (try being the most operative word there!) rather than have a strict diet in place.

  • I also use the see it, eat it, diet. I need to do something. My mom has been talking about weight watchers, and I think she is going to do the online program, if she does I might join with her. My problem is that I love to cook and the thought of trying to figure points on my own recipes totally overwhelms me.

WW has a recipe builder function online...just enter the ingredients and it figures out the points per serving for you.

  • I don't diet - I just track calories using myfitnesspal.com and make sure I'm getting the right mix of protein, fiber, carbs and calories to support my fitness. I learned a long time ago that the number on the scale does not define me at all - it's all about how I feel in my clothes. In fact I couldn't tell you how much I weigh right now.

I think it's all about lifestyle changes, because I always think, what would happen when I go off the diet? I'd probably just gain everything back.

That's me.  I was dieting like crazy and working my asss off before the wedding.  As soon as I went back to "normal" eating and back to slacking on the workouts I gained a ton of weight back and fast.  It's just not worth it to keep trying to "diet" so that's why I'm looking for ways to maintain without any tricks.
