lemonade out of lemons, right?
Our rat issue has gotten worse. Yesterday when I woke up I found that the lid to our trashcan had been chewed on. 
Today maintenance gave me 2 rat traps to set out to try and catch them. And a few min ago I went to sit on our couch and found that the back cushion had been chewed on too and now has a big whole. But since H and I will most likely both be moving out of the apartment, at least this gives us a good reason to break the lease. I also think the health department will be getting a call soon.

My dad lives about an hour away. He may be able to help watch him but I'm not sure what my school schedule will be like yet

Our Apt complex keeps trying to get rid of the rats but nothing is working. They have plugged holes, put poison, and put some repellent too. And I know our neighbors are having issues as well. I think it might be a bigger issue than just one rat getting in. H hasn't even let Aiden sleep in his room for a while bc he is paranoid about rats getting in his room (But I don't really mind bc I love snuggling him at night).

It sounds like your complex needs to tent the whole building. I'm sure they don't want to do that because it would probably cost a fortune, but it sounds like the problem is out of control.
I wish I had your positivity, Liz. I admire that about you.
