My sister is graduating high school next Friday night and I need a gift. What do kids these days want? I really dont want to give her cash, she'll blow it on dumb stuff. I'd rather get her something she needs.
Annnd GO!

Re: High school grad gift?
Funny you should say that. I am actually looking for some small graduation gifts right now for some of the youth I work with. They get big things at awar nights, so I was thinking of books or picture frames. Those can be good gifts.
What is your budget?
Tell me a little about her:
What does she like? What are her plans after graduation?
For kids going to college, I usually get a dry erase board, a mini vaccum or a 3 drawer plastic storage container filled with little things like a can-opener, coffee mug, easy mac, etc.
For moving out, pots and pans set, etc.
If she is traveling, you could get a lugagge set. You could also get a nice-looking breifcase/portfolio.
If you are able to spend more money, an i pad or nook.

Oh yea, sorry. She is going to school in the fall and has to live in the dorms. About her.....um, she's not all that girly, played tennis, works a ton, has her own car.
My mom bought her a laptop but didnt get a bag so I'm looking at those on Etsy. Maybe a laptop bag and a gift card for gas or Target....? I dont have a set budget really, reasonable I suppose...if its something cool I'd spend more.
If she is going to a dorm, I think the laptop bag plus some dorm supplies may be nice. BBB and target (or whatever stores are near you guys) usually work. Many girls like to pick out their own bedding.
You could do something like a small appliance such as a microwave or coffee pot.
A nice bathrobe or a laundry basket with towels.
Flip flops and a shower caddy.
Stand up for something you believe in.
