Yeeeeouch!

Today at work, I banged my elbow so hard that I got light headed and felt like I was going to throw up. Then I noticed it actually cut the skin, too. Now I have an awesome bruise starting to form.

Only once in recent memory have I hurt myself so badly, and that was when I sprained my ankle...I blacked out for a few seconds from that one.

How common is this? Has this happened to anyone else?

What is the worst pain you've been in?

  • Oh my gosh Brooke!  I hope it doesn't get worse!  Ice and ibuprofen stat!

I hurt my hip really bad once and the pain was like nothing I ever felt.  I knocked my head as part of the fall so there was a momentary black out and seeing stars with that too.

    Happy healing to your elbow!

Ohh Brooke, I hope it is feeling a bit better today!  Elbows are so stinkin' sensitive sometimes.

I've actually got this weird thing on my elbow...a normal person's blood vessels will spread out but for whatever reason, all my mine on my left arm clumped together on my elbow.  It's a blueish/purple mark probably about the size of a half dollar if not bigger and omg it is so sensitive, if I bump it on something I want to cry.  People always ask me how I bruised my elbow so bad because that's what it looks like.

The worst pain I've ever been in was when I had an inflammed tendon in my hip.  Holy mother of f*ck, I could not move without being in horrible pain; the doctors put me on a muscle relaxer, 2 different pain pills, and I had to get a big ol' shot in my hip.  Let's hope that never occurs again.

Ohhh...not the elbow.  Mine is tingling just thinking about it!

My biggest pain was cracking a rib when I had a terrible cough.

When I was little I got a lot of ear infections.  My eardrums burst twice.  That was the worst pain I have ever been in.  I can still remember how it felt.  It was awful.

I had this happen my sophomore year in college.  I ended up calling my roommate who was at a sorority event crying asking her to go to the ER with me because my ear just kept bleeding; it was horrible.  It was crazy because up until that point, I had never had a single ear infection in my life.

This has happened to me as an adult.  I have had ear infections and strep throat bring me to tears as a grown woman.  Only once has it gotten to the point of my ear drum bursting.

I have some anatomy anomaly where I don't seem to have pain receptors in my ears. My eardrum burst when I was about 8, and we had no clue I had a raging ear infection until I woke up with blood all over the pillow and caked in my ear. I FREAKED the F. OUT when I saw that though...

Brooke, ice and ibuprofen, stat, as PP said!  Poor thing :(
