Work vent
Yes, I'm on maternity leave, and I have a work vent... 
Today, I checked my work email to weed out some of the stuff that won't be important when I go back in late July. My office manager had emailed me yesterday to ask when I'm going back to work!!! WTF, it's been 3 and a half weeks!?!?!
If it were up to me, I'd NEVER go back to that hell hole full of petty jerks - in fact, DH and I talked about the idea of me volunteering to be one who is laid off during this huge financial upheaval there - but my position is protected under FMLA, so it's not an option.
DH said I should have ignored her email, but I had already responded by counting out the 12 weeks I am entitled to take and giving her that date.

That is really crappy! I wouldn't have emailed her back either. Shouldn't they know the date already? I don't know if this is helpful to your situation, but you can actually be laid off while on FMLA. You can't be laid off or terminated because they're mad you're on leave, but they can fire you if you do something wrong or lay you off if there are lay offs. They would just have to prove that their reasons are legitimate and not because of your leave.

Not to mention that your manager could have simply checked with HR. It's something a manager should know... Just sayin'!
Uh. Well, I guess on the bright side, it seems like they miss you!?! I think people seriously underestimate what it is to have a baby. Jeez.
