I picked up my first litter of foster kittens last night. They are a complete joy. And permanent furbaby is doing a lot better than I expected (they are kept apart, but he knows they are here).
I am in love with the one on the right, he jumps into my lap as soon as I sit down.

Decorate This
I have been saying out loud 20 times a day that I am not keeping them, partly to remind myself... it will be bittersweet to see them get adopted. I tried to give them very generic names so I wouldn't get attached, but I did give the one that loves me most a "real" name. He is def the one with a chance of staying, ha.

There's no way I could foster them--I'd want to keep every last one.
Also, today is Hug Your Cat Day. Can you please hug every one of those little furballs for me?

OMG They are so cute!!! We had a litter with 2 black ones and a gray, and another of all black or black & white.
I'm so glad you're fostering. It's a lot of fun.
Our 3 cats always know that something's up when we put up the baby gate (it just gives us a buffer zone to get in and out of the foster area), but other than some occasional hissing/growling if they see the fosters, it's NBD to them. They are pretty used to it now since we've been fostering for a year.
5 cats. 1 baby.
I love when we get to name them!! We once had a litter that we named after the Land Before Time. We also had some girls named Thelma & Louise. We like themes.
PS, what are their names??
5 cats. 1 baby.
I was trying to just name them to distinguish them from each other, so I started with Fluffy on the left, Blackie is the all-black one, Baby (black face, white paws) is the smallest and the only girl, then the one on the right I named Omar, after the character from The Wire because of his white "scar." Omar is always the first to come up to me, and will stay in my lap the longest.
Done!
