Composting ?
So, I bought a compost bin, got it all set up, then realized I'm not completely sure how to start it. Do I just start dumping in my food scraps, or should I put leaves/dirt in first?
My parents have composted my whole life so I know the middle process well, I've just never seen one started. I could call them and ask, but I've already called my mom twice today to ask dumb questions so I'm giving her a break.
Any advice would be great, thanks!

I have a very very informal compost bin that I made out of pallets that I broke/sawed apart. I just pile stuff in there. I know there is a percentage that you should have brown/green/food.
I've been thinking a lot about compost today. I don't know why.
