Oh..hmm. Maybe it is sweet.
I immediately read it in the semi passive-aggressive way that my grandfather would mean it: "I'm pretending that I didn't hear you say you don't want kids right now, and trying to guilt trip/bully you into providing me with a grandchild."
Well, I do think it's sweet to offer to buy a crib, in general. Like...if you were pregnant. So, it is definitely a mix. And may not be passive-aggressive or pushy at all, just sweet.
