*meldot* doula question
Am I wrong that you used a doula? I'm very very generally toying with the idea. Last time i totally thought I would know what to ask the nurses, what I would want/need during labor, etc. and it all went out the window when my water broke and I freaked. DH is not crazy about the idea, but I think it might be good to have someone who would know what I need.

I used a doula and ended up with a c-section, lol.
She was really helpful in preparing me for labor, and also was the person, who, after about 24 hours on cervadil with no progress, said, "ask for pitocin. and an epidural. maybe you can go into labor and sleep while it's happening since you'll need strength to push" if she hadn't said that, I probably would have asked for another dose of cervadil, lol.
Honestly though, I could have done it without her. Had I had a vaginal birth, maybe I'd feel differently, but I think you need to talk to a few doulas and see how you feel....
I would say this I think if you find a doula who has worked with your hospital and is familiar with staff and procedures it is better.
