Oh - this is hard!
I think it's the beginning of spring when you realize that there won't be winter for awhile and you can enjoy the outdoors.
Basically, I'm so annoyed at how negative things have been lately in/about Minnesota so I'm trying to come up with a list of awesome Minnesota things. I may do a blog post about it next week. (If I do I'll link anyone's comments to their blog and give everyone credit) I feel like we need some good press. And while no one reads my blog, it's all I've got
Fall...love it!
And I agree...I've been staying out of the negative comments posts because I thoroughly enjoy living here...and if I didn't I'd move elsewhere.
All the outdoors activities Minnesota's terrain and weather has to offer- snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, disc golf, hiking, backpacking, water skiing, jet skiing, great state parks, rock climbing, etc.

cabins, lakes, fishing, colors in the fall, the first blooming plants of spring, seeing green after months full of white, I've been born and raised in MN, Target Field, State Fair....
I love the universal celebratory feeling when spring finally FINALLY arrives. Those first warm sunny days when everyone in the state seems to suddenly be cheerful... like a big winter weight has been lifted from our shoulders
I will also add that I think the more you love a place, the more disappointed you may be to see changes that you think will detract from the quality of life there. Being critical of a particular change or policy or legislature (or insert gripe here) doesn't mean you don't love where you live... If you love where you live, you'll want to actively maintain those things you love, and constantly strive to improve areas that you aren't satisfied with. I think that's true, regardless of political persuasion.

This. No question.
I love the State Fair but I'd have to say what I love BEST is how BOUNTIFUL yet SMALL the cities are. Bountiful in terms of shopping, theatre, culture, nature..... yet SMALL so it's not a nightmare to drive anywhere, doesn't take hours in rush hour, and you can go from one end of the metro to the other easily.
So many cities that have what we have are just massive, impossible to get around, expensive, and parking is hellish.
