things are getting better

as many of you saw on FB, my H surprised me with a lovely bouqet (3 red roses and 3 hydrangeas for 3 years together...he's so thoughful!) and a bottle of wine when he got home last night. we had decided no gifts this year since we close on the house on Friday. i had actually gone to Target to get some melamine plates and cups and other items for our deck at the new house since H's favorite part of this whole process is his new grill :) so..we both broke the rules but it was ok.

also, he had a 2nd opinion on his ankle today. while surgery is still his only option and he'll have to have another, it's not as critical to get it done RIGHT NOW as the other doctor made it. and, he has the opportunity to replace the broken/missing cartilage with an engineered cartilage and be part of an FDA study. the surgery costs $1million (!!!) but our isurance covers it. the outcomes are better with the engineered cartilage and, while his scar will be larger, the recovery time is the same. so, we're hoping for that.

thanks for your kind words and i apprecaite you all listening :)
