Re: New Moms: Updates please
Baby's age: 5 months 10 days
What is your favorite part of being a mom? watching him go through his milestones and learning things on his own and the love
What has been the hardest part? the first 3 months .. colic/gas ughh i don't wish that on anyone
What's been the biggest surprise? how everyone says "everything will change once the baby is here" yea ... no. our family just grew and so did our hearts.
How has your DH been as a daddy? he's great and goofy
Do you have any advice for the about-to-be-mommies? follow your gut. no one can tell you how to be a parent, not even the articles/magainzes/books. your mom instinct kicks in the day he/she is born. you'll know what to do and only you know what's best for your child.
Baby's age: 2 months, 3 weeks
What is your favorite part of being a mom? Me being the center of LO's world. It is so selfish to say, but when he is upset I am the one that can calm him down almost immediately and when we play he is all smiles.
What has been the hardest part? Having to supplement with formula. I felt really defeated when he wasn't gaining weight. I felt like I was fighting an impossible battle with my boobs. That mixed with hormones did not equal good.
What's been the biggest surprise? How much love I have for him. I know I would love my baby unconditionally, but you never can explain the love you will have.
How has your DH been as a daddy? He has been great! Unfortunately he works very long hours so sometimes he gets sad that LO is a little more attached to me. They are so cute together though planning little games and having fun. Daddy gets to do a lot of the "fun" stuff.
Do you have any advice for the about-to-be-mommies? Roll with the punches. Don't expect everything and every single day to be perfect. You will have great days and nights and the next day can be a rough day (gas, cries). Cherish every single moment good or not so good because the weeks go by so fast and just keep getting better.
