So I thought Calla was a totally original name, I don't know anyone named Calla. I always liked the name Lily, but a couple of our friends have used it. Being that Calla Lillies are my favorite flower I thought it was a great alternative and a special name.
I get this facebook message from my uncle the other day: "Congrats on the baby, mom (my Grandma) wants to know if you named your baby Calla after her grandmother."
I was completely surprised! I called my mom and dad right away and had them look in the family ancestry book for my paternal great great grandmother. Sure enough, her name was Calla Lilly Robinson. How strange is that?
You might be thinking I am awful for not knowing my great great grandma's name. I may be, but that side of our family is huge. Calla is my grandmother's 43rd great grandbaby. Yes, we are all numbered ![]()
Re: About My Girl's Name
First - that name reminds me of the book "The Crowning Glory of Calla Lilly Ponder" by Rebecca Wells - she wrote the "Ya Ya Sisters" books.
Second - oh my gosh 43rd GREAT grandbaby?! Yeah, I'd say that side is pretty huge! I think it's cool the name is a family name even though you weren't aware of it before.
That's really pretty! And it's pretty awesome that the name is also in your family. I think it's meant to be.
I don't know my great great grandparents' names either. I can't remember anyways.

That's a cool story!
I don't know my great grandparents names either. I got them from my mom to put in the baby book, but I have no clue what they are off the top of my head.
What a sweet story!
