The weather will be hot this weekend, above 85 degrees. You can check the weather by going to www.weather.com and typing in Columbus, GA.
I can tell you where not to stay--the Hampton Inn by the airport. I was there last year while in town for a sports event, and it was a very old hotel.

i don't think there IS a hampton inn by the airport...and by the airport is kind of a dumb choice if you HAVE a choice for graduation...it's a bit of a drive to benning when there are lots of hotel choices closer.
and it won't be 85 here...more like 95.
take it from a native
there's a nice suburban extended stay on victory drive, and the holiday inn express on victory drive is also really nice. victory dr. is NOT the nicest part of town for the most part, but they have built some really nice hotels towards the entrance to benning.

I second the HI express on victory. It's one of the newer HI Expresses, and it's super nice. MH used to stay there for a week at a time when he'd go down for his masters classes, and I stayed there with him when he graduated. It was great!

whoever did your booking didn't do a very good job, there are MUCH nicer places a lot closer to the airport. we don't really consider that "by the airport".
