How many bras do you own?
I'm just sort of curious. I have four (3 nude, 1 black) that are all functional; nothing racy or fancy. I just replaced them all, and it was expensive! It lead me to wonder if four is "normal."
Re: How many bras do you own?
I recently got fitted for bras, and the one I bought that I liked best/was the most comfortable/didn't look like a grandmother bra, was $70. So I own 1 good fitting bra and about 3 or 4 poorly fitted bras that I wear as back up when my $70 bra is in the wash.
I'm afraid to buy bras now because i'm terrified of the price, plus i'm a little in denial that my boobs are the size they are...
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
I have a lot, mainly because there were a few years that I got lazy about laundry and kept buying more :P I usually wear them twice between washings. I'd say I have 1 white, 3 or 4 nude, 2 pastels (pink and blue), and then 4 or 5 darker colors. I have another few fancy ones that I really need to get rid of because they don't fit anymore, and I should probably retire some of the others because they're way old.
I once heard that you're supposed to replace your bras every six months. Really? I get that after a decade they're not the most supportive, but how in the world do they go downhill THAT quickly and who can afford a quality replacement bra wardrobe that often??
3 good ones that are in regular circulation (nude, black, white) and 3 'back-of-the-drawer' bras (1 black lace, 1 corset-type black strapless, and 1 nude strapless).
My boobs grew a full size during our IVF treatments. My plan (we'll see how that works) is to lose the added on weight over the summer and get fitted for a 'real' bra this fall.
exactly! and bra shopping is so annoying that when i find a good one i love, i buy several.

Four that I wear on a regular basis (gray lacy, black and white polka dot, white, nude) and then two others I wear on a semi-regular basis (nude and black).
I will buy a new bra every six months and demote one to a less frequent wearing schedule. I tend to throw out old bras twice a year when I do my my biannual cleaning of my closet to weed out clothes that don't get worn anymore.
I just lost weight and it happened to coincide with some bra clearance sales! So, now I have about six mostly nude/white and one black and one pink.
My DH keeps telling me I should buy more so I don't have to wash them so often. Different subject but he has at least 40 pairs of unders!

Pretty much me -- 3-4 nude, 2-3 white, 2-3 black, one pink. (off the top of my head -- I just did laundry, you'd think I'd know fer sher.) I wear them twice, too, unless it's really hot and more than one wearing would not be hygienic. (I've already admitted to my OCD issues here.)
I also have two sports bras and two older-than-dirt bras I wear for painting, yard work, etc. - I don't care what they look like or how they fit.

Stand up for something you believe in.
I have 3 that I like (and fit properly!), 2 nude, 1 black; and I think I have 4 (maybe only 3?) more that are somewhat ill fitting and uncomfortable, but can work in a pinch. And yes, the reason that the ill fitting bras have not been replaced is because it is so damn expensive. Especially when you have a weird size like mine and there are only like 3 stores that carry it and they never have sales!!
And that doesn't count my range of gianormous granny/lunch lady bras that I'm keeping around for when I get pregnant again and the monster boobs return ;-)
Almost forgot, I have a few awful torture devices called sports bras...they are so terrible and need to be replaced badly!!
Same here, though I have waaaayyy less. I own 2 white ones, a beige, a black, and a black printed one that I only wear occasionally. Oh, and I definitely wear them more than twice between washings!

Uh, me too.

This is me pretty much me exactly.
Yeah, ditto.
It has been 3.5 yrs since I was "normal," i.e. neither nursing nor pregnant (I was both for 3 months), I have been living in nursing bras (and while pregnant sports bras) for so long, I have no idea what it feels like to wear a normal bra. I think back in the day I had 3 I rotated thru. I plan to splurge when I get my body back (hopefully soon!!).

I had a period where I had a bit of a VS habit . . . As a result, I probably have 50 or more bras. I don't even want to think how many pair of underwear I have.
Now that I'm pregnant, I have 4 that I can actually fit into. I was planning to shop for more this weekend.
ditto - or I try to find a slightly cheaper one of the same brand online. They are never significantly cheaper. I have 3-4 but none are terribly supportive anymore. They are a couple years old.
