Princess Beatrice Sells Royal Wedding Hat On eBay For More Than $131K
We remember being shocked when the charity eBay auction for Princess Beatrice?s Royal Wedding hat reached $10,000?and now, the bidding closed yesterday at a whopping $131,648 (?81,100). The 22-year-old princess said she was happy to give the entirety of the proceeds from her Philip Treacy creation to UNICEF and Children in Crisis: ?I?ve been amazed by the amount of attention the hat has attracted. It?s a wonderful opportunity to raise as much money as possible for two fantastic charities. I hope whoever wins the auction has as much fun with the hat as I have,? she said in a statement.
