What happened when you went off of bc (pills)?
I've been on bc for the past 10+ years and am on my last pack right now, I think 2 weeks left. I'm sure I could look this up online, but since I didn't do my homework assignment and post yesterday, this is my "conversation" contribution! Should I expect any weird side effects, mood changes, etc? I don't even know what my adult self is like not on bc, I started I think just before I turned 18.
Re: BC Question
It varies from person to person. My 1st cycle off BC I had slight mood swings and more painful cramps for the 1st pd. But after that 1st cycle, it was exactly like it was when I was on BC. Oh I also broke out on my face more for the first couple months.
Though BC is out of your system within 24 hours of your last pill, it may take your body months to regulate itself without the artificial hormones. Meaning it may take awhile before you ovulate and get your period again. Or, like it was with me, you will ovulate right away and get back on track immediately. It's different for everyone.

I just went off after being on for 12 years. I felt great in the first couple of weeks, probably due to a spike in libido! But my face did break out a little (I was used to completely clear skin). I only waited six weeks for my next period, and was feeling extra bloated as that was coming up, but then the period itself was normal (not extra long or heavy or anything).
The weirdest part is that I always go to bed feeling like I am forgetting something since I am no longer taking the pill!
I didn't notice any real change.
Maybe slight cramps and my hormonal acne actually got much better and I haven't had any issues with it in the last few years.
Insane acne, I mean worse than high school. That lasted about 3 months and then calmed down. I went to the Clinque counter to try and see if they could help me and they said NOT to change my skin routine since it was hormonal. I needed to let it balance itself out and any intervention would likely make it worse.
Also my periods were slighly heavier and my cycle went to 24 days.

Ugh, this is what I don't want to happen. I'm glad I'll be off of the hormones soon enough, but I'm really hoping not to have some of these side effects. Thanks for the info.
